As the Tigers start post-season play I’ve learned to ignore the pundits. They will size up the teams player by player and give readers or listeners a prediction on who will win. Often they have been wrong because they can’t measure team “heart”. The Tigers are a good team and they have never quit all year long and that is why they have won their division title. Even when it looked like the Tigers were going to be out of the race they came back. One thing the 2012 Tiger team has is heart, they just don’t give up and when you combine that with Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera and last year’s Cy Young Award winner and Most Valuable Player Justin Verlander along with one of the best batting lineups in baseball and outstanding closer Jose Valverde they can win it all this year. It sure would be nice to see a World Series in Detroit again and to be able to say World Champion Detroit Tigers. -Harry Katopodis
