The Detroit Tigers have traded starting pitcher Nate Robertson to the Florida Marlins for cash and minor league left-handed pitcher, Jay Voss.
The Tigers will pay part of Robertson’s $10 million contract while he plays for Florida.
Jeremy Bonderman and Dontrelle Willis will round out the Tigers starting rotation that includes Justin Verlander, Rick Porcello, and Max Scherzer.
Eddie Bonine will take the last spot in the bullpen.
Jay Voss, 22, was selected by the Marlins in the eighth round of the 2007 draft.
In other moves, the Tigers have made Alex Avila their back-up catcher. Avila is the son of Detroit Tigers assistant general manger Al Avila.
